Residents urged to lock all doors, including garages, vehicles
On Saturday at 8:08 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of 500 East Chestnut Street for a stolen-vehicle complaint, Officer Jose Colon reported. The victim said an unknown person took his white Chevrolet van, police said. During a search, police located the vehicle unattended in the 400 block of Coates Street; the victim said his Verizon Razor HD cell phone was missing, police said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-384-2300.
A resident of the 200 block of East Chestnut Street went out to his garage Sunday morning and discovered that several of his tools had been stolen, Officer Guy Bruchstein reported. The items included a black air compressor, Makita ieaf blower, and a chainsaw sharpener, police said.
On Sunday at 2:19 p.m., Officer Jonathan Shave responded to the 400 block of Cityview Avenue for a reported assault, police said. The victim said that he was involved in a verbal altercation with Drue Miller, 23, of Christiana, when Miller allegedly attempted to hit the victim with his vehicle, then exited and threatened the victim with a baseball bat, police said. Police said assault charges would be filed against Miller, who fled prior to the arrival of police.
Officer Jonathan Shave observed Lewis Lyons, 56, of Coatesville, driving a vehicle in the 900 block of East Lincoln Highway at 8:10 p.m. on Sunday, police said. Lyons was taken into custody after a traffic stop for a felony aggravated assault warrant from the East Fallowfield Township Police, Coatesville police said. Lyons was arraigned and committed to Chester County Prison after failing to post 10 percent of $25,000 bail.
On Saturday at 4:57 p.m., Officer Jonathan Shave responded to the Rite Aid Pharmacy in the 300 block of East Lincoln Highway for a retail-theft complaint, police said. Lindsey Fellenbaum, 22, of West Chester, attempted to leave the store with $218.99 worth of items, police said. After returning to the station, she was searched and was found to be in possession of two bags of cocaine, police said. She was processed, arraigned, and released after posting 10 percent of $1,000.
Police responded to the unit block of South Fourth Avenue on Sunday at 5:14 p.m. for a criminal-mischief complaint, Det. Shannon Miller reported. The victim reported that sometime overnight, someone had damaged his vehicle, police said.
