Victim, who was not hit, said four young males fled scene on foot
Officer Carmen Mollichella, on patrol in the 300 block of Oak Street on Thursday at 9:02 p.m., heard what sounded like three gunshots in the area and began a search for victims, suspects or evidence, said police. A subsequent 9-1-1 caller said the shots occurred in the 100 block of North Fourth Avenue, where officers made contact with a woman who said that she was exiting a vehicle in that block when she noticed four male teens standing across the street, police said. As the victim exited the car, one of the males fired a handgun three times in the victim’s direction, and then all four fled on foot eastbound, police said. The victim was not hit, but an investigation is continuing. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 610-384-2300.
On Friday at 2:45 a.m., Coatesville officers on patrol in the area of South Eighth Avenue and East Lincoln Highway observed Jose A. Santos Jr., 32, of Coatesville, sitting on a bicycle that was stationary in the middle of the roadway, Cpl. Brenden M. Boyle reported. Santos then traveled eastbound into the 800 block of East Lincoln Highway, crossing into oncoming traffic and nearly striking a marked patrol vehicle, police said. Santos was stopped and displayed several signs of being under the influence of drugs, police said. He was taken into custody without incident, and, due to his level of intoxication, transported to Brandywine Hospital for evaluation, police said. He received a non-traffic citation for public intoxication, police said.
Officer Stephen Galletta responded to a complaint on Monday at 5:25 p.m. regarding death threats that had been made by Anthony Harris, 35, of Coatesville, police said. Harris was taken into custody Tuesday night and arraigned at the station, police said.
Coatesville police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Stirling Street for a report of a suspicious vehicle on Thursday at 10 p.m., Det. Brandon Harris and Cpl. Brenden M. Boyle reported. Dwayne A. Baynard, 34, of Coatesville, one of the passengers of the vehicle, was found to have an active criminal warrant for his arrest from the Pennsylvania State Police’s Avondale barracks for theft, police said. Baynard was also found to be in possession of marijuana, police said. Baynard was turned over to state police on the warrant and charges were filed against him for drug possession, police said.
Det. Shannon Miller responded at 1:07 p.m. on Thursday to the area of Modena and Willow Alleys for a report of shots fired, police said. Shell casings were located in the unit block of Modena Alley, but no injuries were reported. Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 610-684-2300.
On Thursday at 11 a.m., police responded to the 100 building of the Regency Park Apartments for a report that a wanted person was staying in one of the apartments, Officer Chris McCarthy reported. Tiffany M. McCoy, 27, of Coatesville, was taken into custody on a probation violation without incident and transported to Chester County Prison by state constables, police said. ‘ –
Coatesville Police took Corey Luckey, 31, of Coatesville, into custody in the 500 block of Olive Street on Thursday at 1:36 p.m. on outstanding warrants, Det. Shannon Miller reported.
On Thursday at 6:35 p.m., Officer Carmen Mollichella received a criminal-mischief report regarding a vehicle, police said. The victim said her vehicle, which was parked in the unit block of North Seventh Avenue overnight, was damaged sometime between 9:15 p.m. and 7:30 a.m., police said. Both front tires were slashed and the vehicle was keyed along both sides and its hood, police said, adding that an investigation is continuing.
Officer Carmen Mollichella responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of Lumber Street on Friday at 3:58 a.m., police said. Upon arrival, Mollichella made contact with Laquan Davis, 22, of Coatesville, who had a bench warrant, police said. Davis was taken into custody without incident and taken to the station to await transport by constables to Chester County Prison, police said.
