East Fallowfield students remember 9/11

EAST FALLOWFIELD — On Sept. 11, East Fallowfield Elementary School had its Patriot Day Ceremony to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania.

Staff and students paid tribute to the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives that tragic day and honored the firefighters, police officers and first responders who risked and gave their lives to save so many others.

Boy Scout Cub Pack 219 presented the colors of the United States Flag, after the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem song by our students and their families, brief remarks were made by, Principal Wayne Wallace, Acting Coatesville Area School District Superintendent of Schools Dr. Angelo Romaniello and Nina Petro (retired school teacher). During the ceremony, the names of Pennsylvanians that lost their lives were read.

Representatives from Modena Fire Company, Pomeroy Fire Company, Westwood Fire Company, East Fallowfield Police Company, Chester County Sheriff’s Department were among those Chester County first-responders who attended the ceremony.
