Elementary students invited to win prizes for collecting aluminum cans
The county is calling all school-age can collectors for a competition with cash prizes.
Children in kindergarten through sixth grade throughout Chester County are invited to collect as many aluminum cans as possible in an attempt to win first-, second- and third-level cash prizes as well as promotional items, a county news release said.
Although the two-month contest, which is sponsored by the county’s Solid Waste Authority, does not officially begin until Jan. 1, schools must designate a contact person to coordinate efforts designated within each school. Registered home-schooled children are encouraged to participate as well, the release said.
The collection period runs through Feb. 28, and entries will be due March 7, said the release. For an official entry form and contest guidelines or more information, contact the recycling contest coordinator at 484-796-4052.
