Chester County Studio Tour this weekend

Sculpture work by West Chester artist Rhoda Kahler, whose studio will be among those open to the public this weekend as part of the Chester County Studio Tour.

Four years now and growing stronger each year — local artists and studios open their doors to the public to offer a behind the scene look at their work and process.

This year’s event, which is free to the public, looks to be the biggest yet and takes place this Saturday and Sunday at studios all around the county.

Some six years ago, a group of Chester County artists started meeting for monthly critiques, challenging each other to develop and grow as part of a creative support system. The idea for the studio tour grew out of that group. This network of contemporaries has collaborated in various exhibitions and projects. This is the fourth year Jeff Schaller and David Oleski will be presenting the Chester County Studio Tour with a prominent lineup of artists.

Among the featured artists is Unionville’s Lele Galer, who will be showing her work at the studio of noted local sculptor Rhoda Kahler in West Chester.   Kahler’s tile work has been featured in magazines, newspapers and on television, including on the Home and Garden Television network (HGTV).   Rhoda’s art has also been spotlighted in several award-winning displays at the Philadelphia Flower Show, receiving the blue ribbon in 2008 and 2011.

Chester County Studio Tour is a self-guided trail that connects and highlights these local yet extraordinary artists.

Organizers of the event invite friends, families, art enthusiasts and the curious to experience and meet a variety of artists as they exhibit their work during this two-day event. This unique and intimate opportunity creates a free unlimited access to the artists, and a clearer understanding of our story and creative process. Works of art will be available for purchase.

The Chester County Studio Tour will be held on Saturday, May 19th from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.  and Sunday, May 20th from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. For more information please visit www.ChesterCountyStudioTour.com
