By popular demand, farmers’ market extends season

Chilly weather won’t preclude fresh produce and locally prepared foods, thanks to the extended season of the Coatesville Farmers Market.

Order by phone or email for pickup every other Saturday

The popularity of the Coatesville Farmers Market has prompted organizers to extend its season into the winter months, continuing the availability of fresh produce and offerings such as Nomadic Pies and MacDougall’s Irish Victory Cakes.

Every other Saturday, starting this week, patrons can pick up orders that need to be placed by noon the preceding Thursday. Orders can be placed by phone or email to the vendors. Patrons who subscribe to the market’s email newsletter will receive a listing on Monday of the items available from a variety of vendors.

Orders will be ready for pick-up on the designated Saturdays between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the market in Gateway Park, First Avenue between Rts. 82 and 30. Some vendors will have additional items for sale during pick-up, weather permitting.

On nice days, special treats and new products will be offered to encourage support for local businesses  through the winter months.Vendors all accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, FMNP and SNAP/ACCESS as well as cash.
