Questions on alleged assault prompt more charges

 Police said 18-year-old became aggressive, resisted arrest

Image 2On Sunday, Coatesville police responded to South Eighth Avenue at Walnut Street at 6:55 p.m. for an assault complaint, reported Officer Stephen Galletta. A17-year-old male told officers that Tyree Jacobs, 18, struck him in the face with a closed first during an altercation, police said, adding that Jacobs became aggressive toward officers when confronted. Jacobs was charged with aggravated assaulted, resisting arrest and related offenses, police said.

A Hispanic male sitting in his car in the 300 block of East Lincoln Highway became a robbery victim on Saturday at 10:46 p.m., Coatesville Cpl. Guy Bruchstein reported. Police said a black female entered the car on the passenger side and asked for a ride. When the victim refused, the woman grabbed a rosary from the man’s neck and left the area, police said.

Coatesville police were dispatched to the 700 block of East Lincoln Highway at 9:32 p.m. on Sunday for a subject yelling in the street, Cpl. Guy Bruchstein reported. Demetrius Dixon, 32, of Coatesville, was taken into custody for public drunkenness, police said.

Coatesville Officer Stephen Galletta made contact with Steven Moyer, 18, of Coatesville, during a traffic stop on Saturday at 9:55 p.m., police said.  Moyer had a warrant for his arrest and was found to be in possession of narcotics, police said.

On Saturday at 6:41 p.m., Coatesville Officer Stephen Galletta made contact near Ash Park with a juvenile in possession of two BB guns, police said, adding that he was released to the custody of his parents pending citations.

State police from the Embreeville barracks responded to a one-vehicle crash on Saturday at 4:04 p.m. on westbound Rt. 30 Bypass, east of Rt. 340, police said. A 1994 GMC Jimmy driven by Kevin P. Staedt, 35, of Upper Darby, left the roadway, struck the concrete median, and came to final rest about 100 yards away, police said. Staedt, who was not injured, was arrested for driving under the influence, state police said.
