Woman arrested for allegedly assaulting city officer

Police say corporal was responding to domestic dispute

IMG_0486A 20-year-old Coatesville woman’s actions suggested that she did not welcome Coatesville Police Cpl. Jeffrey Ingemie’s presence on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 11:24 p.m., police said. Ingemie had responded to a dispatch for a domestic dispute and found Dante R. Camp, 20, angry and likely intoxicated, police said. When Ingemie attempted to interview her, Camp responded by lunging at him, grabbing his throat, and attempting to choke him, police said. Camp was taken into custody and arraigned on charges that include aggravated assault, police said. She was released on $5,000 unsecured bail to await a preliminary hearing on Jan. 27, court records said.

Police were called to an apartment at North Third Avenue and Chestnut Street at 2:43 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, for a burglary complaint, Officer Claire Lang reported. Two tenants, who were in the process of moving out, said they had not been at the location since Jan. 7 and found a DVD player, a 42-inch flat screen-television, a 46-inch flat screen television, approximately 50 DVDs, and a bag of dirty men’s clothes missing, police said. A 28-year-old Coatesville resident was arrested for suspected drunken-driving on Sunday, Jan. 12, at 3 a.m., Officer Stephen Galletta reported. At North Seventh Avenue and Lumber Street, police said they witnessed Alesia Jackson rear-end a parked vehicle, causing minor damage. Jackson, who admitted drinking alcohol earlier, failed all field sobriety tests and also registered over the legal limit through a breath test, police said. Jackson refused consent for a blood test and was transported to the station for processing on DUI and related charges, police said. Jackson, who also had a traffic warrant, was arraigned and released on $2,500 unsecured bail, police said.

Police were called to a burglary discovered in the 400 block of Valley Road on Sunday, Jan. 12 at 4:17 p.m., Officer Claire Lang reported.  The tenants left the house at approximately 1 p.m., and when they returned about three hours later, someone made forcible entry through the back door, stealing a 62-inch flat screen television, and two laptop computers, police said. On Sunday, Jan. 12, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Coates Street for a report of a theft of $700 from a residence, Cpl. Ken Michels said, adding that no sign of forced entry was evident. Officer Miguel A. Ortiz responded on Friday, Jan. 10, at 4:10 p.m. to the 100 block of North Fourth Avenue for a theft report, police said. The victim stated that an unknown person broke into her rental property from the rear kitchen window and removed all the copper pipes from the basement level of the house.
