Coateville sophomore Mike Boykin has a chance to claim the Red Raiders first state gold in recent memory

HERSHEY—Coatesville sophomore Mike Boykin continued to wield the hot hand as he blew through the Pennsylvania Southeastern Regional tournament held this weekend at Oxford High School as Boykin claimed the title in the 220 pound weight class.

Boykin will take his show on the road to Chocolatetown, USA as he travels to the Giant Center in Hershey on Thursday to square of against the best the keystone has to offer on the mat.

Thanks to his District One South title last weekend, Boykin was a high seed and received a bye into the quarter finals, where he dismantled Nick Cassalia from Central Bucks South by a tally of 9-1 to push his post season win streak to nine straight and advance to the semis improving his season record to 40-1.

Boykin (62-10 career) defeated West Chester East senior Bredndon Vaikeli (33-6, 75-25 career) by a count of 5-3 in the semi final then snagged the championship by handing Tyler Callender (36-10) of Council Rock North a 3-2 loss in the final.

Boykin will face Bald Eagle High School junior Nathan Sharkey (26-6) in the preliminary round of the state tournament.  For the complete bracket click the following link.  http://pawrsl.com/pa/2012_AAA_WR_Completed_Brax.pdf
