State police: Traffic stop leads to drug charges

Image 2A Coatesville man was detained for going through a red light on Lincoln Highway at Iron Lake Boulevard in West Whiteland Township on Satruday at 2:36 a.m., said state police from the Embreeville barracks. Dennis G. Walls Jr., 31, was found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and charges were filed in district court, police said.

On Friday at 10:12 p.m., Coatesville police responded to the 1100 block of East Lincoln Highway for a property-damage accident, Officer Sylvester Earle reported. Upon investigation, officers learned that Kelly Ford, 41, of Coatesville, had struck the victim’s rear bumper, causing minor damage, police said. Ford was mailed a citation for careless driving, police said.

A 45-year-old Coatesville resident told police that he left his cell phone in his unlocked vehicle in the unit block of South Fifth Avenue on Monday at 3:38 p.m. while standing on a porch nearby and that when he returned to the vehicle, his white Samsung Galaxy ll was missing, Coatesville Det. Shannon Miller reported.
